Ke'vin W. Bowers - STUMPTOWN ART STUDIO - September 5-October 1


Coming up on the September 5 Whitefish Gallery Night is an exhibition featuring guest artist Ke’vin Bowers at Stumptown Art Studio.  The artist reception for the opening night takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at 145 Central Avenue.

Born in Havre, Ke’vin is from North Idaho and Eastern Washington.  He has been a regular Santa Fe resident, gallery artist and instructor there.  Ke’vin’s work encompasses the regional people, animals and architecture of the Southwest.  For over twenty-five years he has worked in various mediums including pen & ink, watercolor, acrylics and colored pencils, and in recent years has been concentrating on pastels.   His favorite subjects include women, buffalo, horses, desert landscapes and African animals.
             
A studio painter, Ke’vin has also taught art professionally since 1996.  He is enamored with passing his creative knowledge on to others, and giving someone the ability to create paintings themselves.  Complete details about the artist and his work can be seen on his website, www.ke-vin.com
             
Ke’vin’s work has sold in more than 5 countries, including the American consulate in Saint Petersburg, Russia.  He has shown in art galleries of New Mexico, Idaho, Washington, South Carolina and Texas.

Stumptown Art Studio is a non-profit community art center in the heart of Whitefish, Montana.  It was founded in 1995 to offer art opportunities for all ages and art interests including:  classes, workshops, art camps, art parties, a clay cooperative, pottery painting, glass fusing and mosaic-making in the Ceramics Annex, art gift, retail art supplies and exhibits.  

Exhibits hosted at Stumptown Art Studio feature guest artists, group displays and students works, new artwork and it provides a space for emerging artists.  Each month during the Whitefish Gallery Night from May through October, December and February, the work of a different artist is on display.
